Brewing Grains and Malts from Get Er Brewed

The foundation of brewing beer is built on the brewing grains, aka malt. Malts make up a big part of a beer and can make or break a brew. They are responsible for the fermentable sugars, some of the flavours and aromas, and the colour of our beer.

Consistency is the name of the game. If you are confident that your ingredients will produce consistent results, you're on your way to making a perfect brew every time. Malts play an essential part in consistency in brewing. Your final ABV and EBC will all depend on your grain for brewing; if you are not using fresh quality grains, who knows what you will get in the end?

Our malt suppliers pride themselves on the excellence of their products. Their process and procedures ensure they produce quality malts with consistent results. And our quick turnaround in stock ensures you always get the freshest malts. A factor we consider when choosing which malts we want to stock.

The malted barley that Get Er Brewed supply are sourced from the leaders in the industry. Through our knowledge and experience, we know what breweries want from their malt. We have selected only the best manufacturers from across the world. Our malt suppliers only produce top-quality malts, with industry-leading technical support from their talented team of technical and master brewers.

Consistency and quality are what brewers demand of their malts, which is our focus. Our suppliers have been in the industry for many years. They have developed world-leading technology to ensure the best quality without compromise. This also ensures their malts yield consistent results.

All our malts are professionally handed from the manufacturer to your door. Our 25kg bags of grain are stored at our premises, where it is packed and shipped to you.

Our Malt Suppliers

We have UK malts from Crisp, Belgian malts from Dingemans and German malts from Weyermann. This gives you several options for the style of beer you are making.

CRISP MALTS
The history of Crisp Malt dates back to 1870 when two brothers acknowledged the quality of malting barley being grown in Norfolk, and they invested in maltings, which became the home of the Great Ryburgh Maltings that is still the heart of the company today. Critical investments and acquisition of other maltings have placed Crisp at the top of the game in terms of malting. Key acquisitions would be that of Micronised Food Products, which brings an exciting catalogue of products to the modern brewer and Tivoli matings in Hamberg and Bydgoszcz in Poland.
We have a solid relationship with Crisp Malt, as one of their top-performing malt distributors in the world, we value our relationship greatly with them, and we are proud to be working with them as their Irish Malt distributor.
DINGEMANS MALTS
Dingemans Malt is based in Stabroek near Antwerp in Belgium. In 1875, Alexander Dingemans started grain trading and making malt. Almost 150 years later, brothers Karl & Jan Dingemans (5th Generation) are currently heads of operation, taking over from their parents in 2010.
You have most likely already tasted some of their malts in Belgian brews. They supply most Belgian brewers, and their malts are used internationally in renowned Trappist, Ale, Lambic, White and Abbey beers.
We are honoured to distribute to UK and Ireland this diverse and exciting range of speciality malts from our new friends in Belgium. Our portfolio of malts includes the highly sought-after Biscuit malts, Aromatic malts and an extensive range of caramelised / crystal malts. Geterbrewed act as malt distributors for some of the largest maltings in the world. They hold significant stock in their malt distribution warehouse for the many breweries they supply in Ireland. Malt isn't only about impacting the colour, flavour and body of your beer. It's essential to look at the extract, the make-up of the grist, the wort ferment ability, and not forgetting how it's stored and milled. Geterbrewed takes pride in providing fresh malt due to high malt stock turnover plus, we crush malt fresh when it's dispatched and use sieves to check the consistency of the crush. We have a large malt storage area and know how to handle the malt correctly. Traceability is also vital for our pro brewer customers, and we have the full audit trail.

The are other key brewing elements to making great beer.

All Grain Brewing Water

Get to know your water report. First, you want to remove Chlorine or Chloramine, then look at the alkalinity by checking your mash ph, aiming for 5.2 to 5.4ph. It's time to look at the other ions in your water, calcium, magnesium, chloride, and Sulphate. We can help you adjust your water chemistry with the chemicals and salts we stock, and water calculators help with the quantities. Chloride and Sulphate are the ions that work together to determine the flavour and character of your beer.

Hop Pellets for Homebrew & Microbrewery

You want hops for their hop bitterness, hop flavour and hop hop aroma. Hop oils contribute more than just hop aroma to beer. They help with mouthfeel, foam and lacing and flavour stability. Hops also have unique anti-microbial properties, so they protect and preserve beer. All hop pellets are correctly cold stored and nitrogen flushed in foil packaging.

Dried Yeast & Liquid Yeast for Brewers

Geterbrewed distributes Lallemand yeast to microbreweries in the UK and Ireland. As well as stocking an extensive range of dried and liquid yeasts for homebrewers, ranging from Fermentis, AEB, Mangrove Jacks, Lallemand, Bioferm, Brewferm, White labs and Wyeast. We have strains of yeast that will allow you to brew every possible beer style, including a diverse range of bacteria for sour beers.

The sheer size of the range of brewing ingredients we stock is available in any quantity, from homebrew size recipes to tonne malt sacks for the largest breweries in the country.
