Savinjski Golding is a traditional Slovenian variety originating from the English variety Fuggle, which was brought to Slovenia in the early 19th century. It contains 3-6 % of (Alpha) acids (27 - 33% of cohumulone). The ratio between (Alpha) and (Beta) acids is about 1.5. The essential oil content varies from 0.3 to 1.7% of dry hops. The ratio between Alpha-humulene and Beta-caryophyllene in the essential oil is about 3.5.
This variety is known for its noble hop aroma and pleasant bitterness. Delicate, slightly spicy aroma. Use in English ale, Belgian ale, any lager or pilsner.
